Zillers Athens Boutique
E-MAGAZINO

Authentic luxury at the center of the city
The Zillers Athens Boutique Hotel was completely renovated and opened its doors to the public in October 2016. Apart from the wider renovation of the rooms and public areas, the new addition was a Roof Garden with a view towards the majestic Acropolis and Plaka area.

The Zillers Athens Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of Athens, and it is the ideal starting point for the guests, whereas the movement time in the city is significantly reduced by immediate accessibility to the metro station. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of the most important museums and archaeological sites, lively cafes and restaurants, the market of Ermou Street and Kolonaki area with its luxury shops.

Once you enter the hotel, the photos of Athens of Argyris Drolapas welcome you whilst the atrium unites the virtual architectural elements with the physical world and allows the natural light diffusion.

Six of our ten luxurious rooms and suites have a view of the Acropolis and the Cathedral of Athens while the remaining four overlook the inner corridor. Business services such as Internet corner and Wi-Fi access with high-speed connection in all rooms and public areas are available to the guests throughout the day. The King Size beds with anatomic mattresses and the luxury bathroom toiletries balance between luxury and comfort while making The Zillers Athens Boutique hotel a “great value for money” hotel.

On the third floor of the hotel, The Zillers Roof Garden, a real oasis, welcomes the guests from the breakfast hours until it is time for a unique dinner to our Michelin Star Restaurant.

According to testimonials, whereas there are no official documents, the building was completed between 1892 and 1896 by Ernest Ziller, an emblematic figure in the architectural scene of Athens. The building was first used as a residence, where the family, who stayed in, abandoned the city center around the 1960s and they leased the space to businesses. This particular use lasted until 2000, when a number of serial interferences were started for the conversion of the property to a hotel. The building, due to its location, has become a “witness” of major historical events, such as weddings and coronations, funerals of prime ministers and political gatherings, which are related to the city of Athens and the Greek state.

The starting point of the design was to elevate the building authenticity to the highest level possible and remove the recent interferences, which led to the alteration of many parts of the interior. The DCD Company undertook the architectural design and the implementation of the project, where the architects, Mr Costas Vlachogiannis and Mr Thanos Bampanelos and the decorator Mrs Alexandra Bourdanioti, with many years of experience and respect to the history of the building, followed by abstract principles to create more private areas harmonized with old and new elements.
